About THE OPTIMIST
Devised for Britain's Channel Four in the 1980s, THE OPTIMIST was created by Richard Sparks, who has also created material for renowned comic Rowan Atkinson. Each of the thirteen episodes are self-contained comic stories that feature ENN REITEL as Nigel, a man who always manages to find himself in extraordinary and hilarious situations.
Filmed entirely on location in the USA, Mexico, and United Kingdom, all of these dialogue-free stories have an international appeal. Backed by the beautiful musical scores composed by David Spear and John Cameron, the comic narrative shines through without a word being spoken! The series was directed by Peter Ellis (Highlander, NCIS) and Robert Fuest (The Avengers). Production was overseen by Robert Sidaway, who remains actively involved in the world of film and television. Each episode has been remastered. THE OPTIMIST is ideal for box-set viewing on streaming/download platforms; in-flight programming; and for all forms of cable and satellite broadcast. Licenses are available for all markets in all territories. Contact: ROBERT BROWN |
